Hemsey's music has been featured in film trailers for The TownLincoln2 Gunsand a few others. Inspired by film music and metal, he wanted to riom a film composer, which is why, after graduating from Palisades Park High School in[ citation needed ] he studied music and philosophy at Rutgers University and graduated with a Summa Cum Laude.
Hemsey began his career as the composer for an obscure hip-hop group called Nine Leaves, where he was one of five lyricists. A notable example is the film trailer for Inceptionwhich included his composed piece "Mind Heist. Hemsey rooom up in New Jersey with his older sister Tara.
